The Circular Battery Cluster is a collaboration of six Horizon Europe projects, REINFORCE, REBELION, RECIRCULATE, BatteReverse, BIG LEAP, and BATTERY2LIFE dedicated to advancing Europe’s circular battery economy. Together, the projects address key challenges across the battery value chain, including battery reuse, repurposing, recycling, reverse logistics, digital traceability, and sustainable business models. By developing innovative solutions that extend battery lifetimes, recover valuable materials, and improve resource efficiency, the Cluster contributes to a more sustainable and resilient European battery ecosystem. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint stakeholder engagement, the Circular Battery Cluster is helping strengthen Europe’s circular battery value chain and accelerate the transition towards a competitive and sustainable battery future.
Circulate Battery Cluster at Battery Innovation Days 2025
The Circular Battery Cluster proudly participated in Battery Innovation Days 2025, Europe's leading event for battery research and innovation, bringing together key stakeholders from across the battery ecosystem. Represented by the Horizon Europe projects REINFORCE, REBELION, RECIRCULATE, and BatteReverse, the Cluster showcased its collective efforts to advance sustainable and circular battery value chains across Europe.
Throughout the event, the Cluster hosted a joint exhibition stand and engaged with industry representatives, researchers, policymakers, and innovators to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with battery circularity, second-life applications, reverse logistics, recycling, and critical raw material recovery.
As part of the conference programme, the Circular Battery Cluster delivered a joint presentation highlighting the importance of European collaboration in building a sustainable battery future. The session showcased how the four projects complement one another across different stages of the battery lifecycle, contributing to a more resilient, resource-efficient, and competitive European battery ecosystem.
Battery Innovation Days 2025 provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen synergies, exchange knowledge, and engage with the wider battery community, reinforcing the Cluster's shared commitment to accelerating the transition towards a circular battery economy in Europe.
